Medical & Laboratory Gas Engineers

Due to continued growth and strong order book for 2024 and beyond, Medi-Plumb Installations (MPI) are looking for Medical, Laboratory, and Industrial Gas Engineers.  The role could be suited to someone with a plumbing background looking for a change in career path and training will be given to the right candidates. The role will involve working on projects throughout the UK and if you think the role could be for you we would love to hear from you.

  • Previous experience of installing copper from 15mm upwards.
  • Other pipeline experience such as stainless steel and plastic is a benefit.
  • CSCS Card & Construction site experience
  • Must be able to adhere to Health & Safety requirements
  • Good worth ethic and ability to work to a high standard.

Experienced Mechanical / MGPS Estimator

Due to current workloads, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well-established company that specialises in the design, installation, and maintenance of specialist gas systems. These include pipeline systems for Hospitals, Dentists, Laboratories, and Industrial installations.

The role of Estimator would involve working in an office environment within a small team and assisting with the pricing of pipeline systems. Previous experience in dealing with Architectural drawings and mechanical estimating and is essential.

There is also the scope to include CAD drawing works into the role and experience with AutoCAD / REVIT / Solid Works software packages would be of benefit but not essential for the right candidate. Applicants must have excellent organisation, administration and IT skills. Duties would include:

  • Setting up new job files in line with ISO 9001 systems
  • Issuing information to suppliers for quotations and managing responses
  • Scaling of pipeline systems from architectural drawings
  • Ascertain accurate material quantities from scaled drawings
  • Review tendering opportunities with the management team
  • Assist with pre-qualification responses

Self-motivation and the ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines to return quotations are essential. Also, applicants must be able to work accurately and effectively with minimal supervision and possess good verbal, written and technical communication skills. This is a full-time position.

Experienced Laboratory Gas Engineers

Due to continued growth and strong forward order book, Medi-Plumb Installations (MPI) are looking for Experienced Laboratory Gas Engineers.  We are looking for a candidate that has a strong technical background with excellent communication skills, both written and verbally, and has worked with technical CAD drawings previously. The role will involve working on projects throughout the UK and if you think the role could be for you, we would love to hear from you!

  • Previous experience of installing stainless steel pipework and tubing
  • Ability to understand technical information
